When in 2000 Stirum Design started to work for Troika, he obtained the very prestigious Red dot award for his first project. The idea for this indoor thermometer is a synthesis between the surface of the metal and the thermometer itself. The aim is to visualise the freezing point in the metal. To achieve this goal, the metal part is divided into 2 different parts that meet at zero degree. Later, Stirum Design also signed other designs for Troika such as key-clicks, slat ("Ski") or letter openers ("El Bandito").
